Eeth man was created by God with the purpose to help man in his food digest before it goes into the stomach and processed by the internal organs. In the oral cavity occurs mechanically digestion by the mandible, teeth and saliva and by chemical substances contained in saliva it. The food is very need to be chewed before entering into the mouth so that digestion in the stomach does not work is very heavy. According to the existing theory of mastication of food must be done according to the number of teeth, namely 32 times the Mastication, the food can be ingested. But the reality is not in accordance with the prevailing theory. May 10 – 20 times just chew the food ingested directly.
Knowledge of the next gear which I'll share at this time the article was concerned about Mastication and digestion of food, i.e. "function each tooth in the process of mastication". Every day humans certainly do the process of mastication, but chew just chew, without knowing the functions of the existing teeth.
In the book "the anatomy of the tooth" creation of drg. NY. Itjingningsih W.H. human teeth are said to enter into the Heterodontal/heterodont. Heterodontal/heterodont teeth is the mandible which have various forms and functions, such as dogs, cats, monkeys and humans.
According to drg. NY. Itjingningsih in his book,
The human mandible teeth are divided into several groups:
1. The PPT:
Incisors, their function is for slicing/chopping food.
2. The kaninus:
Canines, its function is to slice it and ripping the food.
3. Group premolars:
Small molars, their function is for ripping and help grind food.
4. The molar:
Large molar, its function is to chew, mashing, and grind food as it has wide with chewing surfaces much bulge-bulge and dent-grooves.
Questions regarding the functionality of each of the teeth usually much popping up among children who have a high curiosity. That we might someday be able to answer questions from their right, it's good we read and know the function of each tooth.
